Melinoe is a HP dc5750 midi-tower with an Athlon 64 X2 5000+ (2.6 Ghz, 2 cores), 4GB RAM and a 80GB disk.
The naming
In Greek mythology, Melinoe is the goddess of ghosts. Melinoe has the powers to turn any mortal insane by her phantoms.
Setup
Melinoe runs OmniOS v11 r151006.
Failed setups
I have not been able to install ESXi 4.1 and 5.1 since the southbridge SB600 is not officially supported and modifying the PCI-IDs for the driver to pick up the SATA controller didn’t help either.
Likewise, OmniOS does not support KVM on AMD-V, and the inofficial port illumos-kvm does not seem to work on machines lacking RVI (about the same as Intel EPT).
